Liberal Woman Claims Assault After Being Triggered by Confederate Flag Rug

We’ve seen many a lot of liberal meltdowns and triggerings from all manner of allegedly offensive things.
But this incident from last Wednesday at a store in Portland, Oregon is definitely a classic.
The phrase “liberal snowflake” has been overused lately — but sometimes it’s the only term that applies. It is difficult to think of a more fitting way to describe one woman in Oregon who filmed herself having an emotional meltdown after encountering a rug on display in a store.
A woman named Heather Franklin noticed that the store had several rugs patterned after the Confederate flag.
Instead of simply taking her business elsewhere or calmly voicing her concerns, Franklin decided to confront employees inside the shop.
Franklin flipped out and told the employees that having Confederate flag rugs hung up was like having a swastika on the wall.

One employee disputed that characterization of the flag and suggested she learn some history.
Another employee asked her if she had supported Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders. He said, “Which one did you vote for that lost?”
He then called her a ‘b–ch’ as she continued to hyperventilate about the rug.

Now, there is no doubt they could have been more amenable and not called her a name.
But typical liberal, it disturbed her so much, no matter what anyone else thought, so it needed to be taken away.
But once she got out into the parking lot, she really seemed to fall apart. She complained about the employees approaching her, when they were nowhere near her.
Then she start wailing and crying that the employees had assaulted her, when of course that had not occurred, as her own video revealed.
A woman came to Franklin’s aid as she continued to cry and say they assaulted her.
What happened as a result?
The CEO removed the products and disciplined the employees.
“We receive thousands of different products,” stated Toolson. “On that load were a few of these rugs with symbol of (the) Confederate flag. We’ve contacted the rug supplier and said please don’t send us those.”
The CEO also explained that he was not happy with how the employees handled the incident, and that they had been placed on leave.
What’s actually troubling is that this woman has charge of children.
When people talk about liberalism being a disease, maybe it is, for this woman…

8 Superfoods for Weight Loss

Losing weight should be just as much about being healthy as it is about looking good in a swimsuit. Though nearly all superfoods—as part of a healthy, balanced diet—will help support weight loss, some are particularly good at keeping your belly full and flat. Read on for some of the best superfoods for weight loss.

1. GRAPEFRUIT

Now, we’re not advocating the grapefruit diet, however, grapefruits are an effective superfood for weight loss. The fiber-packed, water-filled fruit takes some time to eat and fills you up. Several studies have shown that getting a daily dose of this tangy fruit can lead to significant weight loss. Grapefruit also contains powerful antioxidants and phytochemicals that can lower your cholesterol, reduce cancer risk and rev up your metabolism.

2. YOGURT

You’d be hard-pressed to find a food better suited for weight loss than yogurt. And the science backs this up—one of the most comprehensive long-term studies ever conducted on weight loss found that yogurt was the most strongly linked to losing weight year over year. Yogurt may also help regulate your digestion and immune system, provide you with a hefty dose of several vitamins and minerals and lower your blood pressure.

3. BEANS

Like many of the best superfoods for weight loss, beans are packed with fiber and protein and they are low in calories.

4. DARK CHOCOLATE

Chocolate, amazingly enough, can actually help you lose weight—if you’re smart about it. Reach for the dark stuff, not milk or white chocolate, and don’t overeat. Dark chocolate slows the pace of sugar’s absorption into the blood stream, which helps prevent insulin levels from spiking, and keeps you fuller for longer. It is also good for your heart and blood pressure.

5. GREEN TEA

From protecting skin to preventing cancer, green tea is one of the healthiest things you can drink. But it helps in the battle of the bulge, too. Studies have shown that green tea can increase energy levels and help in weight loss efforts.

6. ALMONDS

Looking for a healthy, filling snack? Skip the carbs—almonds, loaded with fiber and healthy fats, are one of your best bets. One study found that almonds as snacks helped control subjects’ appetites without causing weight gain. But they’re not just a weight-loss food, they’re also good for your heart, your skin and your cholesterol. What’s not to love?!

7. AVOCADOS

Yes, avocados are high in fat, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. These decadent fruits are rich in monounsaturated fat, which help your heart and memory, and provide a healthy dose of fat to keep you fuller for longer. They also contain a hefty serving of that other ultra-filling nutrient, fiber. Some research even suggests that may help prevent the accumulation of belly fat, and release oleic acid, a chemical that triggers the production of a hormone that reduces hunger.

8. QUINOA

Quinoa has all the building blocks of an excellent weight-loss food: it’s rich in fiber, protein and monounsaturated fat, and low-calorie to boot. Some researchers also think that this South American seed helps reduce your risk of heart disease, cancer and type 2 diabetes.

The Medication that Causes More Liver Failures than All Other Medications Combined.

Did you know that in the U.S. alone last year, acetaminophen (branded Tylenol) was responsible for over 100,000 calls to poison control centers?  Tylenol is responsible for about 56,000 visits to the Emergency room annually and also receives credit for around 450 deaths each year due to liver failure.  A little know fact is that acetaminophen causes more liver failures than all other medications combined.
However, liver failure associated with the use of acetaminophen should not be new news to anyone.  However, what is probably new to most is the growing amount of evidence that indicate acetaminophen may actually have negative side-affects on our brain!

Tylenol Causes Brain Damage

A joint study conducted by the University of Toronto and the University of British Columbia is the leading official neurological study looking into the mental affects of Tylenol.  Researchers explain that since pain and decision making (especially when evaluating what to do after a mistake) are both handled in the same part of the brain, acetaminophen might affect both (since we know it affects pain).  When researchers asked test subjects to choose the correct target between two choices in rapid succession, they tested the brain response in that area of the brain.  When a mistake was made, those who took acetaminophen showed less brain reaction and stimulus after making a mistake.  If the results are accurate, it could mean that cognitive control and ability is impaired when taking acetaminophen.
Expecting mothers should be acutely aware of the dangerous side-affects of all medications they take, including Tylenol.  There are currently at least 8 published medical studies (2 of them in JAMA pediatrics, 2014 and 2016) warning about the risks of using Tylenol during pregnancy.  All study’s indicate long term neurological damage to infants who’s mother took acetaminophen during pregnancy.  Also, be aware that the leading manufacturer of acetaminophen (Tylenol) in the U.S. acknowledges that not one of the tests conducted to evaluate the safety of Tylenol in infants tested at brain function.
Of course further tests and evaluations need to be conducted to better understand the potential impacts of acetaminophen on brain activity.  However, given it’s well established history of causing liver damage, we should all be extra cautious about using this product for pain as it may be damaging a lot more than your liver!

14 Surprising Uses for Onions

Rich in antioxidants, thought to prevent cancer, diabetes, and even the common cold, onions are nothing if not a superfood. But that’s not all they are — the same properties that make onions a great food to eat also make them great for other things, from healing your skin to cleaning metal.

Health & Body
1. Repel Insects. Rubbing an onion on your skin is a simple way to repel bugs.
2. Soothe Insect Bites & Stings. Forgot to follow tip #1? Rubbing onion onto bug bites will help to ease the pain.
3. Soothe a Sore Throat. Making onion tea is a great remedy for soothing sore throats. On the stovetop, boil water with onion peels in it (about 1 cup of water for the peels of 1/2 an onion.) Bring to a boil, remove onion and serve.
4. Use in Place of Smelling Salts. Overwork yourself? Feeling light-headed? Onions are a great natural remedy to use instead of smelling salts.
5. Ease the Pain of Burns. Rubbing onions onto burns helps soothe the pain.
6. Remove Splinters. Have a splinter that just won’t budge? Try taping (yes, with tape, or a adhesive bandage) a piece of raw onion to it. Hold tight for about an hour before removing the onion.

Home.
7. Polish Metal. Slice onion and then crush it. Combine crushed onion with water. With a cloth, dab it on the metal surface. Rub until clean.
8. Get Rid of that Paint Smell. The same mixture described for polishing metal works great for combating the unpleasant, and sometimes unhealthy, odors of paints and varnishes.
9. Clean Sponges. Okay, so this particular use is actually for the mesh packaging that onions are often sold in, but hey — a way to re-use unnecessary packaging, right?! The mesh is a perfect tool to clean all that gunk that builds up on sponges. Cut it up into smaller pieces for best results.
10. Clean Your Grill. Chop an onion in half, and turn on your grill. Using a fork, glide the onion on the grill to scrub it clean.
11. Make a DIY Dye. Onion skins make great dyes! Place the skins in nylon panty hose, tie top shut, and boil in a pot for about 20 minutes.

Food.
12. Make Burned Rice Edible Again. Neglected your rice, and now some of it has burned? No need to toss it! Simply place half of an onion on top of the rice. It will absorb the burned taste.
13. Preserve Avocados. Prevent your avocados from browning by storing them in a plastic airtight container with red onions. Place half of an onion in the container first, skin side up, and then place the avocado. You can use red onion to store guacamole, too: Place some slices on top of the guac’ in a plastic container.

20 Unusual Uses for Baking Soda

This list of 20 unusual uses for baking soda – most of which require virtually no effort at all – will have you stockpiling the stuff in bulk.

Dissolving baked-on drips in the oven
Get rid of those gross, blackened globs on the bottom of your oven without scrubbing yourself sore or flavoring your next meal with chemical-based cleaner. It really is as easy as sprinkling a liberal amount of baking soda all over the oven floor, spraying it with water until well dampened, and forgetting about it for a few hours. Come back, wipe it out and rinse with vinegar to prevent a white film of baking soda residue.
Carpet deodorizer

All those little fibers in carpeting really hold on to all kinds of smells that you don’t exactly want lingering in your home. Sprinkle baking soda liberally, let it sit overnight and then sweep most of it up before vacuuming what’s left. Baking soda absorbs the odors instead of trying to cover them, so you don’t end up with a disturbing melange of floral perfume and cat vomit.
Acne-curing face scrub
Just coarse enough to slough off dead skin cells, baking soda makes an ideal natural face scrub. Many acne sufferers swear by the stuff, saying that mixing it into a paste with either water or facial cleanser can help clear up breakouts and prevent them from occurring in the first place. Just be sure to moisturize afterwards to prevent excessive drying.
Treat itchy insect bites
A paste of baking soda and water will relieve itching brought on by insect bites, and soothe the pain of stings. To get relief from poison ivy, chicken pox and other widespread sources of intense itching, add 1/2 cup of baking soda to a warm bath and soak.

Fruit and vegetable wash
Pests and, worse, pesticides are common contaminants on produce, so washing our fruits and veggies is essential. Sure, you could buy a pricey spray, but you know what works even better? A few tablespoons of baking soda in a bowl of cool water. Just soak them for five to ten minutes, giving some hard-to-clean veggies like potatoes and celery a little scrub with a vegetable brush.
Scrub out the toughest dirty dishes
Baking soda makes those dreaded dishes covered in dried crud so much easier to tackle. Dunk the dishes into soapy water, then sprinkle the trouble spots with baking soda. Let them sit a little while to soften. You can also add a dash of baking soda to the dishwasher for a boost in cleaning power and a reduction in funky smells.
Deodorize sneakers
Pour a few tablespoons into a paper coffee filter or scrap of tissue paper, tie it up with a rubber band and stick it into a less-than-fresh-smelling shoe and it will absorb the odor without making a mess or damaging delicate materials like suede.
Eliminate musty smell in books
Mold growth makes old books, photographs and other stored items smell musty. Get rid of both the odor and the cause, excess moisture, by sealing the items in an airtight container with a large, open tub of baking soda. You can also sprinkle the baking soda directly onto the items and brush it off.
Spackle substitute
If you want to fill a small hole in plaster or drywall but would rather not purchase a whole tub of spackle for such a small job, try this odd tip: mix baking soda and white toothpaste into a stiff paste. Once it hardens, you won’t be able to tell the difference.

Brighten your smile
Baking soda is a common ingredient in toothpaste, but you can give your teeth a little boost by scrubbing them with a paste of baking soda and water between brushings. Baking soda is just abrasive enough to scrape off coffee, wine and other yellowing substances before they penetrate your teeth.
Clean patio furniture
Even cleansers that are specifically made for resin or plastic outdoor furniture can be too abrasive, scratching or dulling the surface. A wet sponge dipped in baking soda will dissolve dirt without causing damage.
Buff out bug splatters and clear cloudy headlights
It may be among the most unusual uses of baking soda, but a paste with water will remove most insect carnage from unpainted car surfaces like bumpers and windshields; add a little dish soap for extra cleaning power if necessary. Headlights that have lost much of their brightness due to hazy, yellowing plastic can also be cleared considerably with the same mixture.
Waterless dog bath
Just like it freshens sneakers and smelly carpets, baking soda can make even the world’s most water-phobic dog smell freshly bathed. Rub it onto your dog’s coat, leave for a few minutes and then brush it out for a quick dry bath that won’t end with the scent of wet dog all over your couch.
Cut kitty litter odor
A shake or two of baking soda is all it takes to make your cat’s litter box a far less intrusive presence in your home. This super-cheap additive works just as well as commercial litter box deodorizers, and it won’t mingle artificial perfumes with the odor of pet waste.
Chemical-free ice melt
You don’t want to break your neck on icy steps in the winter, but you don’t want people tracking chemicals into your house, either. Melt that ice naturally without substances that put animals at risk and eat away at your flooring. Just shake on a layer of baking soda, then apply a little bit of sand for traction.

Remove oil, grease and wine stains
Sometimes, scrubbing a stain just makes it worse. Let baking soda do most of the work. Sprinkle it on, let it sit and it will lift much of the offending substance from the surface. Brush it off and then rub the area with a paste of baking soda and water if necessary. This baking soda cleaning trick will remove oil stains from concrete floors, and can save carpets and couches from permanent splotches of spilled red wine.
Clarifying hair treatment
Remove the product build-up that makes your locks limp and dull. A teaspoon of baking soda mixed in with your regular shampoo can be used as a clarifier once a week or so, and a little baking soda dissolved in hot water will clean crusty hairbrushes, too.
Polish silver, chrome and stainless steel
You don’t need a special polish for every surface in your home. A damp cloth dipped in baking soda makes chrome and stainless steel shine; add a little lemon juice to brighten brass. Real Simple notes that baking soda will even take the tarnish off silver: place the items on a piece of aluminum foil in the bottom of a pot and add a solution of 1/4 cup baking soda, 3 teaspoons of salt and a quart of boiling water. Cover the pot for a few seconds, and the ensuing chemical reaction will do all the work.
Neutralize battery acid corrosion
The ability of baking soda to neutralize acid can save even the most corroded battery terminals. Mix six heaping tablespoons of baking soda into four cups of water and pour the mixture over the corrosion, allowing it to sit for about five minutes. Scrub with a toothbrush, then rinse.
Extinguish fires and control flames
Toss a little baking soda onto the coals if your cookout flames get too high for your liking. In an emergency, baking soda can also be used to extinguish small fires like stove top grease fires.

Chinese jets intercept U.S. radiation-sniffing plane, U.S. says

Two Chinese SU-30 aircraft carried out what the U.S. military described as an "unprofessional" intercept of a U.S. aircraft designed to detect radiation while it was flying in international airspace over the East China Sea.
"The issue is being addressed with China through appropriate diplomatic and military channels," said U.S. Air Force spokeswoman Lieutenant Colonel Lori Hodge.
Hodge said the U.S. characterization of the incident was based on initial reports from the U.S. air crew aboard the WC-135 Constant Phoenix aircraft "due to the manoeuvres by the Chinese pilot, as well as the speeds and proximity of both aircraft".
"Distances always have a bearing on how we characterise interactions," Hodge said, adding a U.S. military investigation into the intercept was under way.
She said the WC-135 was carrying out a routine mission at the time and was operating in accordance with international law.
China`s Defence Ministry, in a short statement, said the U.S. account "did not accord with the facts".
It said that what it described as a U.S. surveillance aircraft was carrying out surveillance activities over the Yellow Sea, and Chinese aircraft went to investigate "in accordance with the law and the rules".
"The relevant action was professional and safe," it said.
The ministry added that U.S. military ships and aircraft frequently carrying out close-in surveillance is the root cause of safety problems between China and the United States at sea and in the air.
"We hope that the U.S. side stops relevant surveillance activities, to avoid this kind of incident happening again."
Speaking earlier, Chinese foreign ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said: "We hope that the U.S. side can respect China`s reasonable security concerns."
Early on Saturday, China`s top diplomat, State Councillor Yang Jiechi, received a phone call from U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, according to China`s foreign ministry.
The report of the call on the ministry`s website made no mention of the aircraft incident but paraphrased Yang as saying China and the United States should expand cooperation across the board and strengthen their communication and cooperation on major global and regional issues.
On Feb. 8, a U.S. Navy P-3 spy plane and a Chinese military aircraft came close to each other over the South China Sea in an incident the Navy saw as unsafe but also inadvertent.
Reuters reported at the time that the aircraft came within 1,000 feet (305 meters) of each other in the vicinity of the Scarborough Shoal, between the Philippines and the Chinese mainland.
China is deeply suspicious of any U.S. military activity around its coastline, especially in the resource-rich South China Sea, parts of which are disputed by China and its smaller neighbours including the Philippines, Vietnam and Malaysia.
