The airline explained that this will make it the first Singapore Airlines A380 to return to the skies for long-haul travel, as the carrier gradually rebuilds its network with the progressive resumption of international air travel.
Singapore Airlines was the first airline worldwide to fly the A380 superjumbo, in October 2007, and the first to fly it from the United Kingdom, in March 2008.
In late 2017, Singapore Airlines launched a multi-million-pound cabin upgrade for its A380s.
The Singapore Airlines A380 is configured with 471 seats in four classes, featuring six ‘Singapore Airlines Suites’ and 78 business class seats on the upper deck, as well as 44 premium economy class seats and 343 economy class seats on the main deck.

The six suites, designed by Pierrejean Design Studio and manufactured by Zodiac Seats UK, offer ‘unparalleled privacy and luxury, complete with privacy doors and both an independent swivel chair and standalone [double] bed’.
Four of the suites can also be combined to form double suites for couples travelling together.
The business class seats, designed by British firm JPA Design and manufactured by Jamco, similarly offer the possibility to create fully lie-flat double beds, all forward-facing and with direct aisle access for all.
Singapore Airlines will operate the A380 on flights SQ317 from London Heathrow and SQ322 from Singapore
All cabins also enjoy ‘award-winning cuisine, extensive in-flight entertainment and attentive cabin crew service’.
Mr Mohamed Rafi Mar, General Manager UK & Ireland, Singapore Airlines, commented: ‘The return of the Singapore Airlines A380 to the skies is a positive step towards international travel recovery.
‘By bringing the aircraft back to the UK, we are delighted to offer our passengers enhanced travel options between London and Singapore.
‘We look forward to welcoming them on board our aircraft, where they can continue to enjoy comfortable and safe journeys with Singapore Airlines.’
