Rules for me, rules for the rest of us seems to be the theme of California Governor Gavin Newsom’s administration.
The California Governor puts rules in place that he expects the peasants to follow while ignoring those same rules when it comes to him, or his family.
This time Newsom was caught red handed. Turns out the Governor and his wife sent their kids to a summer camp that in it’s literature and rules openly says camp staff won’t enforce masking rules.
Via Fox News:
Gov. Gavin Newsom removed his children from a summer camp after photos surfaced of his son attending the camp indoors maskless.
“The Newsoms were concerned to see unvaccinated children unmasked indoors at a camp their children began attending yesterday. Their kids will no longer be attending the camp,” the governor’s communications director, Erin Mellon, told Fox News in a statement Tuesday when asked about the photos.
California’s current guidance for children aged 2-11 states they must wear masks during “camps for youth, youth sports and other youth activities, including theater and music performances and band. Updated CDC guidance is forthcoming for youth settings.”
California officials announced July 9 that students and teachers returning to the classroom this year will also be required to wear masks, regardless of vaccination status.
While the governor, and probably the fact checkers, will claim that Newsom made an innocent mistake, that is actually quite unlikely.
This could be the final nail in the governors political coffin as this is his biggest stumble since attending a maskless dinner at the swanky French Laundry restaurant last November which partially fueled his recall election.
Lets hope the people of the state of California come to their senses and throw Newsom out.
