Liberals are boycotting fast food companies based on a viral tweet with dubious claims

list of companies supposedly supporting the re-election campaign of President Donald Trump in 2020 has gone viral on Twitter, but some of the companies have denied the claims.
The list includes In-n-Out and Chick-fil-A, which are both owned by Christian families, but also other companies that have never expressed political leanings.
Among those pushing the false list is the "People for Bernie" account, which received hundreds of retweets.

Newsweek confronted the original poster of the list, whose name is Zuriel Sanders, and he offered a justification for the list based on his research into dark money contributions.
"In my tracking down I noticed a lot of the companies are funding PACS which are directly helping Trump's re-election or have helped in the past," Sanders said.
"It's indirect but I still see it as them supporting his campaign even if it's indirect you know?" he added.
At least three companies, Chick-fil-A, Taco Bell and IHOP, told Newsweek that they don't make political contributions, which casts doubt on the veracity of the list.
"We're about pancakes, not politics," said a spokesperson for the pancake restaurant. "IHOP as a brand is not involved in providing financial support to either side of the aisle."
One obscenity-ridden endorsement of the tweet came from celebrity Chrissy Teigen, who is a vociferous critic of the president.
"F**k my f**king face I'm about to get skinny as f**k," she tweeted with a link to the fake list.
Her tweet garnered 57k retweets.
