Cory Booker’s Campaign Calling for Trump To Cancel Rallies, Calls Them ‘Breeding Ground for Racism’

It’s no surprise that the left cannot stand President Donald Trump or his rallies, which are widely popular and well attended.
It’s also true that these rallies are protected under the Constitution, specifically the First Amendment right to Freedom of Assembly.
To some on the left, however, the Constitution is not relevant if it goes against what they want.
Case in point, Erin Turmelle, state director of Cory Booker’s New Hampshire campaign, who issued a statement on Trump’s planned rally in the state.
“Two days before [Cory Booker] returns to NH, Donald Trump is planning to hold a rally in Manchester,” Turmelle tweeted. “These rallies serve as a breeding ground for racism and bigotry that inspire white nationalist attacks like the one in El Paso on Saturday. They are despicable and have no place in New Hampshire, or anywhere in our country. That’s why Trump must cancel this rally.”

In a normal world, I would be shocked to read this. Unfortunately, we no longer live in a normal world, but that doesn’t change just how awful this statement is.
First, Turmelle, whose boss openly admittedto wanting to punch the president, makes the appalling accusation that Trump rallies “inspire white nationalist attacks” and directly linked them to the mass shooting in El Paso, Texas.
It’s a despicable claim and one made without any evidence.
Leftists, however, are not interested in the evidence (the El Paso murderer espoused both left and right-leaning views while claiming not to be inspired by Trump), they’re just looking for a way to paint the right as vicious racist monsters.
The racial angle is sickening, but Turmelle doesn’t stop there.
She claimed that the rallies “have no place in New Hampshire, or anywhere in our country.”
Turmelle’s quest to cancel Trump rallies is a blatant attempt to undermine our constitutional right to assemble.
Apparently, Turmelle misread the First Amendment — Americans have freedom of speech, not freedom from speech.
Booker’s campaign is off to a rough start, as polls would indicate. He’s currently polling at around 2-3 percent nationally and 1 percent in New Hampshire.
This rant from Turmelle just goes to show what lengths his campaign will go to to achieve semi-relevancy.

Unfortunately for Booker — but fortunately for America — he’s not quite there yet.
