Colorblind man creates app that allows people to see the world differently (14 Photos)
Colorblindness is a deficiency that affects the way people perceive and distinguish certain colors, like red and green or blue and yellow. It’s pretty crazy how different the world looks, as you’ll see thanks to a new app on the market.
Color Blind Pal
is an awesome app that allows those with the vision deficiency to differentiate between colors they normally can’t see. It’s also an interesting way for those with normal vision to understand how colorblind people perceive colors in the world around them.

For example, this is how a colorblind person sees a field of pumpkins.

Though the app can’t perfectly capture what the scene looks like, it allows people with the vision deficiency to see the difference between the pumpkins and the field as well as get an idea of the colors involved.

In this example, the first photo shows a normal bowl of watermelon. The second photo shows how a colorblind person sees the fruit. The app works by shifting the colors of objects so people can differentiate the colors, as shown in the third photo.

Vincent Fiorentini, the creator of the app, has lived with red-green colorblindness his whole life.
6
Fiorentini not only wanted to create a way for colorblind people to differentiate colors, but for people with normal vision to understand what it’s like to see through colorblind eyes.
7
The app also tells a person what color they are seeing.
8
Since people have different types of color blindness (fun fact: red-green is the most common), the app allows users to adjust to their specific set of vision issues.

Here are two more examples of what a person with normal vision sees, what a colorblind person sees, and how the app changes these colors for them.

The app has assisted many people in navigating the colorful world around them, as shown in the reviews.
