Suspect reportedly tried to kidnap 13-year-old girl. But she put up one heck of a fight.

A 13-year-old New York girl reportedly gave the fight of her life after a male suspect apparently attempted to kidnap her in broad daylight.

What are the details?

The incident took place after school in Long Island on Tuesday.
According to WLNY-TV, police arrested the suspect —24-year-old Jarrod James of Roosevelt — after he reportedly tried to kidnap the girl as she was on her way home from school.
The unnamed teen — who had just wrapped up summer classes — said that she noticed the man following her after she left the school. As the young girl turned down a street, James reportedly began chasing the girl, grabbed her from behind, and covered her mouth with his hand.
Authorities say that the girl was able to break free from James' grip, but he grabbed her a second time and attempted to drag her away. The station reported that the girl "fought back and ran into her house."
School administrator Dr. Andrea Silverstein told WLNY, "It's a very scary situation." Silverstein added, "She was able to escape and, thankfully, was unharmed."
Police charged James with attempted kidnapping, assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and criminal obstruction of breathing/blood circulation.
