Whoopi Goldberg suggests Mitch McConnell pay reparations to Obama during heated segment on ‘The View’

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg blasted Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) during Thursday's episode of "The View," suggesting that he pay reparations to former President Barack Obama.

What did she say?

Goldberg took McConnell to task after he said that the sins of slavery had been paid with the wages of Obama's 2008 election.
Prior to a House hearing on reparations, McConnell said that reparations "for something that happened 150 years ago, for whom none of us currently living are responsible," weren't advisable.
"We tried to deal with our original sin of slavery by fighting a Civil War, by passing landmark civil rights legislation, elected an African American president," McConnell said. "I don't think we should be trying to figure out how to compensate for it. First of all, it would be hard to figure out whom to compensate."
Goldberg condemned McConnell's remarks and fired back, accusing him of obstruction.
"You know, Mitch, you said that you would make [Obama] a one-term president," Goldberg said, "and you did everything you could to not help him in the first four years. Maybe you should pay reparations for that."
Goldberg continued, saying that black wealth and black work had been pilfered for centuries, and insisted that racism is still alive and well in the United States.
