Ilhan Omar gives a bizarre defense of 'concentration camp' comment from Ocasio-Cortez

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) offered a bizarre defense of the controversial comments by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) where she called immigration detention centers "concentration camps."

Omar's comment was captured by Canadian news site The Rebel Media.
"There are camps and people are being concentrated. This is very simple," Omar responded.

"I don't even know why this is a controversial thing for her to say," she added.

Ocasio-Cortez faced a firestorm of criticism for the comments which many said cheapened the memory of the horrors of the death camps from World War II. Ocasio-Cortez and her allies defended the comments by claiming that technically not all concentration camps were death camps.

"We have to really truthfully speak about what's taking place, and this is why it's really important for us to abolish ICE and make sure we have an agency that is accountable to the people that is dealing with the situation in a humane way," Omar continued.

"There's no way that we can allow for kids to be caged in this country and children to be separated from their families. And people being terrorized in their communities," she added. "We have to make sure that we are calling it out, and I am 100 percent with Alex."

Here's the video of Omar's comments:
