8 Energizing Drinks to Replace Coffee

A coffee lover may wonder why anyone would want to replace coffee with another drink, considering its amazing benefits. Coffee has been shown to lower the risk of heart disease, Parkinson’s disease and many other diseases.
However, as you know, too much of anything is harmful. Drinking too much coffee can lead to fatigue, sleep problems and anxiety. Some people experience nausea, increased heart rate, nervousness and restlessness after only drinking one cup of coffee.
Whatever your reason is for seeking coffee alternatives, you can use these energizing drinks to replace your morning cup of coffee.

1. POMEGRANATE JUICE

Just like coffee, pomegranate juice is loaded with antioxidants. It also contains nitrates, which improve circulation by dilating your blood vessels. Improved blood circulation will boost your energy and brainpower.
Some brands of packaged pomegranate juice contain sugar and excess calories. You’re better off making your own fresh juice at home, if you can’t find 100 percent juice.

2. WHEATGRASS JUICE

You’ve probably tried this drink, if you’re into superfoods. Wheatgrass juice is a nutritional powerhouse. It offers amino acids, calcium, iron, magnesium and vitamins A, C and E. These nutrients will jumpstart your day by boosting your energy levels.
Research also shows that wheatgrass juice could ease stress and improve your overall health, thanks to its strong antioxidant properties.

3. PEPPERMINT TEA

Do you want to boost your performance in your morning workouts? Well, drinking peppermint tea may help. According to research, peppermint tea boosts workout performance and increases brain oxygen concentration.
Interestingly, peppermint essential oil has the same energy-boosting properties as the tea, research shows.

4. GINGER-LEMON TONIC

You may have taken this beverage the last time you had a cold, but did you know it can keep you energetic?
This soothing drink has strong antioxidant and anti-bacterial properties. To make it, add grated ginger into a pot of water, and heat it up until it boils. Strain the mixture, and then squeeze lemon juice into it. Finally, add a teaspoon of your sweetener of choice.

5. KOMBUCHA TEA

Kombucha is mostly known for its probiotic properties, but it also boosts energy levels. It contains vitamin B12, which may keep you energized.

6. MATCHA GREEN TEA

Matcha green tea isn’t just for people looking to drop pounds. You can enjoy this drink even if you’re happy with your current weight.
However, it may not be your best alternative, if you’re trying to cut back on caffeine. One cup of matcha contains almost as much caffeine as a cup of coffee.

7. GINSENG TEA

You may love ginseng tea, if you usually enjoy the bitter flavor of coffee. Even better, some sources say that this drink can improve mental performance and energy levels.
Note that there are different types of ginseng. Panax ginseng is the one that has been shown to offer energy-boosting properties.

8. WATER

We all know that water is essential for optimal health. A glass in the morning will prevent dehydration and improve your alertness.
