Laura Ingraham Dings Parkland Student David Hogg, Says He ‘Whines About’ College Rejections

Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham took a moment Wednesday to revel in news that Parkland, Florida, school shooting survivor David Hogg had been rejected from a number of colleges in California to which he had applied, including UCLA.
“David Hogg Rejected By Four Colleges To Which He Applied and whines about it. (Dinged by UCLA with a 4.1 GPA…totally predictable given acceptance rates.),” she tweeted.
Inrgraham also added a news item on the subject from Ben Shapiro’s Daily Wire — a website that has been sharply critical of Hogg and other Parkland high school students who have used last month’s massacre of 17 people to call for increased gun control.
The news of Hogg’s college misfortunes and his resulting disappointment first began to filter out on TMZ which published video of the student reflecting on the matter, Tuesday.
“It’s not been too great for me and some of the other members of the movement, like Ryan Deitsch,” Hogg said in the video of the college prospects for him and some of his fellow seniors at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. “It’s been kind of annoying having to deal with that and everything else that’s been going on but at this point, you know, we’re changing the world. We’re too busy. Right now it’s hard to focus on that.”
In addition to UCLA, Hogg told TMZ he was also rejected from UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara and UC Irvine. He said he had received acceptance letters from a few schools — including Florida Atlantic University and Cal State San Marcos — but is also considering taking a gap year after graduating this spring.
Ingraham, like many conservatives at Fox News and elsewhere, has never been shy about attacking Parkland survivors for pushing gun control. Still, many online took her tweet as mean-spirited — and let her know it.
