Syrian survivor shocks news anchor by pointing out liberal ‘hypocrisy’

CNN’s Brooke Baldwin was unexpectedly schooled by a Syrian survivor last week when he praised President Trump and condemned “hypocrisy” from Hillary Clinton.
On “Pat & Stu” Monday, the guys discussed Kassem Eid, Baldwin’s guest and a 2013 chemical attack survivor. The Syrian man expressed his thanks for the missile strike against a Syrian government air base, saying, “I was overwhelmed. I felt grateful for President Trump. I felt grateful for the United States.”
Baldwin then played a clip of Clinton’s speech last week responding to the strike on Syria, clearly hoping that Eid would agree with Clinton and say the Trump administration was hypocritical for attempting to ban refugees from certain countries.
“I didn’t see you raising your voice against President Obama’s inaction in Syria that led us refugees, that made us refugees get kicked out of Syria. If you really care about refugees, if you really care about helping us, please, help us stay in our country,” Eid said.
Pat and Stu joked about Baldwin’s shock when the interview got out of hand, then had a serious discussion about why chemical weapons inspire far greater terror in victims and observers that conventional weapons.
“It’s like polio coming back,” Stu said. “Like, we’ve kind of already solved it. And you kind of don’t want to, like, open the door to where that’s a big issue for us again. So I understand why they take it a little more seriously.”
