"Obnoxious" job advert slamming millennials has got a whole load of people angry (8 Pics)

The young are the future… or is that the problem?
A job ad placed online by the Tea House Theatre in London served as a de facto two-by-four across the skull of millennials, prompting a counter on how it is fashionable to blame “lazy millennials” for all of society’s ills.
Addressed to “Dear Millenials,” the ad doesn’t mince words as the company explains that this is the “third time in as many months” they’ve had to run a help wanted ad.
“Are you just not taught anything about existing in the real world, where every penny counts,” it reads. “Did no one teach you that the end of your studies is the beginning of your education?”
After explaining who they are and what they do, the Tea House Theatre adds, “One old lady used to run the whole of Mountview Academy with an IBM computer, it shouldn’t be this hard.”
Needless to say, millennials are not too keen on the ad, with a popular response being those with lofty expectations like a strong work ethic are simply old and out of touch:

And while millennials often make it too easy, is it a good strategy to so readily offend those who represent the future?
A tactic that seems to lend itself to the conservative side of politics, as Democrats understand that capturing the youth captures the future — it’s not be accident that liberals dominate college campuses.
Vladimir Lenin is often attributed with saying, “Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.”
2016 Harvard University poll showed most young people don’t support capitalism. More than half, 51 percent, of young adults between ages 18 and 29 who responded do not support capitalism, with just 42 percent saying they support it.
One third of the respondents — 33 percent — support socialism.
With numbers like that, there’s not much of a future in the free market principles that made the United States the greatest economic power in the history of the world.
Something conservative Americans should take into consideration the next time they take to bashing millennials. Would it not be a better strategy to find ways to reach this demographic and bring them around to the principles that define right of center politics?
Instead of pushing them further into the camp that uses cleverly crafted propaganda to disguise liberal values that history consistently shows fails us every time.
Videos like this recent one from Campus Reform provide a glimpse into the growing problem.

Astonishing moment a Costa Coffee barista on Waterloo station refused to sell customer a sandwich because he was planning to give it to a homeless man

A cameraman has branded Costa Coffee a “disgrace” after it refused to serve him because he was buying food for a homeless man.

Adrian Pinsent was at Costa's Waterloo Station branch late last night when he stopped in to buy a sandwich and a drink for a homeless man. He claims that when staff discovered he was buying the food for a homeless man he was told he could not purchase it

After branding the policy 'ridiculous', Mr Pinsent asked another member of staff to sell him the sandwich and was again refused

Mr Pinsent (above), from Walton-upon-Thames, said: 'I knew it was utter rubbish as a journalist myself'
Adrian Pinsent stopped off at the coffee shop in Waterloo station at about midnight on Monday to buy a sandwich and a drink for the man after he met him outside.
Video footage shows staff at the shop telling him that they would be “prosecuted” if they sold him a sandwich because it was against station “policy”.
The Costa workers knew he was buying for the man because he had taken him into the shop to pick out the food.
In the footage, filmed by Mr Pinsent, the barista can be heard saying: “I'm really sorry sir. I'm really, really sorry.”
Mr Pinsent’s attempts to ask another member of staff if they will serve him also fall on deaf ears.
The barista then says: “If we do that we will get prosecuted. It’s not our policy, it’s from the security of the station and the police.”
Mr Pinsent calls the situation as “unbelievable” before leaving ten pounds on the counter and saying he is going to leave with the food anyway.
He later told the Standard: “I was utterly amazed by the whole incident. The idea that the police or station security would prosecute Costa as the barista said is unbelievable, and just not true.
“Either the barista was lying, and I got the impression he wasn't, or someone had told him they would be prosecuted.
“I don't know who, but as a cameraman and journalist I knew his excuse for not selling me the food was completely wrong.”
Network Rail and British Transport Police both denied that this was their policy.
A spokesman for Network Rail said: "We do not have a policy against passengers buying food in our stations and giving the food to anyone who is homeless.
"We will be asking our retailers to remind their staff of this, so we can avoid any incidents such as this in the future."
A British Transport Police spokesman added: “We can confirm that we would not prosecute for selling food to a homeless person.”
Costa have also been approached for a comment.

Grandma goes viral after writing note to a grocery store praising the 'fine young man' who helped her, admitting she wishes her own 'rude, disturbing' grandson was more like him

A grandmother’s comment about how she wished her grandson was more like a worker at her local grocery store has gone viral after the store put it on display.

The woman wrote to the store to compliment employee Nathaniel Hunter, who helped her when she visited the store when she was having night cravings for yoghurt covered cranberries.
“I was having one of those late night cravings, you know how it is,” she wrote.
The woman explained she “could not wait till the next day” for her cranberries and upon entering the store and looking for them, Nathaniel offered to assist her
“Instead of merely pointing me in the direction, he walked me over to the trail mix machines. He then helped me navigate those darn contraptions. He even put in the number so I could print out my barcode,” she continued.
The woman, who confessed she has “trouble with this new technology”, added that it is nice to know “there are bright young people out there that will stop and help an old lady like me.”
After experiencing Nathaniel’s helpful assistance, the grandma started to compare him to her own grandson.
“As I was leaving the store I couldn’t help but wish my own grandson could be more like Nathaniel. I know that’s terrible of me to say as a grandmother,” she said.
“Don’t get me wrong, I love my Tyler to death but he is so rude to me sometimes. Whenever I ask for computer help he just tells me to Google it. He dresses in all black and it really disturbs me. His mother says it’s only a phase, I hope so.”
"Perhaps I’ll see Nathaniel again and I can ask him to be friends with Tyler so that he has a good influence."
The woman’s letter has gone viral after it was put up in the Kentucky, US, grocery store for two weeks.
There is a good chance Tyler is reflecting on his behaviour to his grandma as the letter has been viewed almost 175,000 times on Imgur.

Mother criticises commuters who forced her to stand on a packed train while she breastfed her baby

An angry mother has lashed out at a group of commuters who she says failed to give up their seats to allow her to breastfeed her baby comfortably on a packed train.

Bryony Esther said she asked fellow commuters if she could sit down in the priority seating area of the c2c train, only to be ignored.
The outraged parent took to social media to vent her outrage, posting a picture of her breastfeeding her baby standing up while passengers were sitting around her.
Ms Esther, from Leigh-on-Sea in Essex, slammed a group of men who she said clogged the priority seating area on the carriage with their suitcases and a bicycle.
In a furious post on Facebook, she wrote: “Having to stand on a train whilst breastfeeding my baby thanks to the lovely bunch of charmers giving more priority to their suitcases and rolling joints!! It stinks.
“Plus the cyclist with a fancy bike that keeps rolling into me, sat in the disabled seat. Please share cos I’d love it if their mothers, girlfriends and wives get to see how they behave.”
The mother-of-three’s post, which has been shared more than 20,000 times, was met with fury on social media towards the “selfish” passengers.
A fellow mother commented: “People are so selfish on public transport. So many times we get the train and we can't sit together (me plus 3 kids) because so many singular person is taking a whole table for four.
She added: “Disgusting they made you stand whilst breastfeeding.”
Another wrote: “Wow, people nowadays have no manners at all. I always offer my seat to anyone I think would need it more than me.
“If I saw a lady trying to breastfeed I would definitely give her my seat. Give the woman somewhere to feed the baby in comfort.”
Ms Esther, who was also travelling with her five-year-old daughter at the time, said this was not the first time she was forced to stand while breast feeding on a train.
A spokeswoman for c2c said: "We are aware of the Facebook post made by a passenger regarding breastfeeding on one of our trains.
“We welcome breastfeeding on all c2c trains and would hope our customers would be considerate to their fellow travellers and give up their seat when requested.
“Unfortunately this does not appear to have happened on this occasion, and we are sorry for any inconvenience this caused."

The 6 Best Foods You Can Eat to Prevent Diabetes

Coming down with a diabetes diagnosis is more than just frustrating. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, it’s the seventh leading cause of death in the U.S. But what exactly is it? Diabetes Research explains diabetes is a metabolic disease that causes the body to produce too little insulin. Insulin allows the glucose, or sugar, from the foods that you eat to enter your cells to use as energy, but diabetics don’t have enough insulin to make this happen. This means the sugars stay in your blood, and your body doesn’t have the energy necessary to complete daily functions. In the case of type 1 diabetes, many people are born with it, but type 2 results from poor eating habits and a sedentary lifestyle. To lower your risk of diabetes, try adding the following six foods to your meals.

1. Whole grains

There’s evidence to suggest that whole grains can protect you from diabetes, whereas refined carbohydrates, like those you would find in white bread, can increase your risk, explains Harvard’s School of Public Health. The fiber and bran found in whole grains make it harder for your digestive system to break down the grains into glucose. Because this process is more difficult, your blood sugar and insulin are increased very slowly, putting less stress on the body. White breads and rice cause large spikes in blood sugar when they’re consumed, which can increase your risk for diabetes. Choosing whole grains that have a low glycemic load can decrease your risk of diabetes dramatically.

2. Carrots

The color of carrots is a key indicator that they’re rich in carotenoids, which are antioxidants that may help prevent diabetes, says Prevention. Research from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health found, out of 4,500 people tested over a 15-year span, those who had the highest levels of carotenoids in their blood cut their diabetes risk in half.

3. Green leafy vegetables

Some of the most nutritious vegetables are ones that are dark, green, and leafy, so if you haven’t begun adding spinach and kale to your meals now, it may be time to start. A story on Dr. Fuhrman’s website reports consuming large amounts of leafy green vegetables is associated with a lowered risk of developing type 2 diabetes. According to the story, studies have found that greater intake of such produce resulted in a 14% decrease in the risk of type 2 diabetes. If you don’t love leafy greens, you could even go for broccoli or cauliflower as a substitute.

4. Blueberries

There’s good news for fruit lovers and those who occasionally crave foods on the sweeter side — blueberries are fantastic for diabetes prevention. Readers Digest explains blueberries have both insoluble and soluble fiber that help with blood sugar control and lowering blood glucose levels. There are also anthocyanins in blueberries, which are natural chemicals that work to shrink fat cells. These anthocyanins play an important role in releasing a hormone that helps regulate blood glucose levels, too. An increase of this hormone can help keep your blood sugar from spiking.

5. Sunflower seeds

They’re delicious as a snack or sprinkled over a salad, and sunflower seeds are also very beneficial in the fight against diabetes. Diabetic Lifestyle says sunflower seeds are a great source of copper, vitamin E, selenium, magnesium, and zinc, and their fat content is also helpful in preventing diabetes. Sunflower seeds are high in polyunsaturated fat, and researchers believe this healthy fat can combat diabetes. As for the minerals, the magnesium present in this small seed has also been shown to help control blood sugar levels.

 6. Beans

Not only are beans versatile enough to put in your breakfasts, lunches, and dinners, they’re also great for managing and preventing diabetes. The Bean Institute explains legumes are rich in complex carbohydrates, fiber, and protein, making them low on the glycemic index. Because they digest slowly in your system, your blood sugar stays stable.

These Are the 14 Unhealthiest Protein Bars You Can Eat

We all know by now building muscle is the key to looking toned and skyrocketing our metabolisms. But there’s more to the equation than just lifting heavy weights — you have to make sure you’re getting proper nutrition, which includes enough protein. While most of us look to powdered products for our fix, not all of us are keen on the taste or cost they come with. That’s where protein bars come in.
If you’ve visited the health aisle of your local grocery store lately, you’ll see how many protein bar options are available. There’s every flavor under the sun, and most of them are pretty darn delicious. But, before you reach for a box of your favorites, you’ll need to pay attention to what exactly you’re eating. In many cases, your favorite protein product is no better than that Hershey’s chocolate bar found at the register. Here are 14 protein bars you need to ditch for good.

1. Luna Bar in Caramel Walnut Brownie

Luna Bars are known for tasting delicious — but their nutrition leaves something to be desired. The Caramel Walnut Brownie bar is gluten-free, but that’s about the only thing it has going for it. Just one of these holds 200 calories, 3.5 grams of saturated fat, and 10 grams of sugar. And to top it all off, there are only 8 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber in the whole thing. Considering you can get nearly this much protein in just one egg, you’re better off without this one.

2. thinkThin High Protein Bar

When it comes to thinkThin products, you have a lot of options — but you’re well-advised to stay far away from the selection of High Protein Bars. On the surface, these seem like a great choice. They have 20 grams of protein and 0 grams of sugar, which is the protein bar dream. But if you look a little closer, you’ll see they also have more than 10 grams of sugar alcohols. Breaking Muscle reminds us consuming too many sugar alcohols can lead to digestive issues including gas, bloating, and diarrhea. Also, thinkThin’s high protein bars have at least 240 calories each. We don’t recommend them if you’re watching your weight.

3. ProBar Superfood Slam

ProBar claims their Superfood Slam bar is a “nutritional powerhouse” complete with organic greens and berries, 10 grams of protein, and 6 grams of fiber. This is all fine and well until you really look at the nutrition label. This bar has a whopping 370 calories, which is basically a meal. It also has 23 grams of sugar and 18 grams of fat, 2.5 grams of which are saturated.
For women, this one bar alone will nearly fulfill your recommended sugar allotment for the day — Authority Nutrition says men should aim for under 37.5 grams, and women should try for under 25 grams.

4. Larabar in Coconut Cream Pie

Larabars are known for being nutritional powerhouses made with only a few ingredients, but after taking a look at this Coconut Cream Pie concoction, we beg to differ. While this little bar has 5 grams of fiber, it also has 7 grams of saturated fat, 24 grams of sugar, and 210 calories. And because you can find this product in with other nutrition bars in your supermarket, you may expect it to have a decent amount of protein — but guess again. You’ll only be getting 3 grams of protein with this one. Next.

5. ZonePerfect Nutrition Bar in Cinnamon Bun Cookie Dough

We love cinnamon buns and cookie dough, but maybe not in the form of a protein bar. ZonePerfect’s offering has brown rice syrup, butter, and fructose syrup within the first five ingredients, so you can already tell it’s not a healthy option. This particular flavor also comes with 200 calories, 14 grams of sugar, and 5 grams of saturated fat. Its 11 grams of protein aren’t all that bad, but it certainly doesn’t make up for everything else.

6. Gatorade Whey Protein Bar in Peanut Butter Chocolate

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again — grabbing a sports drink for your hour at the gym is very unnecessary. But, for those who do indulge in a Gatorade from time to time, just do yourself a favor and stay away from their protein bar selection. In just one Peanut Butter Chocolate bar, there are 360 calories, 9 grams of saturated fat, and 25 grams of sugar. You’ll also be getting 20 grams of protein, but this is still one to skip.

7. Nature Valley Energy Bar in Cranberry Almond

We’re all familiar with the delicious and crunchy Nature Valley bars that were always in our school lunches, but the company decided to step up their game with the Energy Bar. It’s a good idea in theory, but the product leaves something to be desired. The Cranberry Almond option boasts 10 grams of protein, but it also comes with 200 calories and 15 grams of sugar. This isn’t the worst offender on the list, but you’re probably better off reliving your childhood with the classic bar for dessert.

8. PowerBar ProteinPlus Bar in Chocolate Brownie

PowerBar is well-known for offering athletes a tasty protein-filled snack for after their workout, but be sure to skip the ProteinPlus bars. The Chocolate Brownie bar is the biggest offender, as it has a whopping 330 calories, 4.5 grams of saturated fat, and 27 grams of sugar. The bar’s 30 grams of protein may seem worth it, but trust us, it isn’t.

9. Detour Lean Muscle Bar in Peanut Butter Chocolate Crunch

With 420 calories and 18 grams of fat, this is one seriously hefty snack. The Peanut Butter Chocolate Crunch baris particularly offensive, as it contains 9 grams of saturated fat and 17 grams of sugar alcohols, which is sure to give you digestive distress. Even with 32 grams of protein, Detour bar’s bad outweighs the good.

10. Clif Bar Chocolate Brownie

Clif Bars have been a favorite of the outdoorsy types for many years, and for good reason — they’re tasty, made with organic ingredients, and have protein and fiber to sustain you during your adventures. What the company fails to remind you of, however, is how much sugar these tasty treats contain. The Chocolate Brownie bar has a particularly offensive 21 grams of sugar. If you look on the ingredient list, don’t be fooled by the organic label before the three different types of syrups, either. Sugar is sugar — it’s all going straight to your waistline, organic or not.

11. Balance Bar in Chocolate Craze

Balance Bar’s follow what they call the 40-30-30 plan to help keep your blood sugar levels steady. This means each bar contains 40% carbs, 30% protein, 30% dietary fat. That all sounds great until you look at the nutrition facts for the Chocolate Craze bar. It has 14 grams of protein, but it’s not really worth it when you see it comes with 18 grams of sugar, 4 grams of saturated fat, and 200 calories.

12. Amazing Grass Green Superfood Bar

If you’re a fan of plant-based protein, then you’ve probably heard of the Green Superfood nutrition bar. This product incorporates farm-fresh veggies, fruits, and nuts for a bar that’s full of nutrition. Unfortunately, that’s not all it’s packed with. Just one of these has 220 calories, 7 grams of fat, and a whopping 24 grams of sugar. You can tell yourself all that sugar is from natural and organic resources, but your waistline most likely won’t know the difference.
Also, it’s not too impressive in the protein department. One bar only has 6 grams. If you’re going to go for this company’s bars, we suggest this Chocolate Peanut Butter one over the original.

13. KIND Dark Chocolate Cherry Cashew + Antioxidants

KIND bars look plenty healthy — after all, you can see the nuts, seeds, and fruit right through the clear plastic package. Unfortunately, it might look better for you than it actually is. The Dark Chocolate Cherry Cashew + Antioxidants bar only comes with 3 grams of protein for the 170 calories. If you’re still devoted to KIND, you can try going for one of their Strong & KIND bars to get a better protein boost and less sugar.

14. OhYeah! Bar in Chocolate Caramel Candies

The bar may say “oh, yeah!” but your body will say “oh, no.” Any of the flavors for the original recipe OhYeah! Bar are bad news, but the Chocolate Caramel Candies version is a particular offender. This bar contains 350 calories and 7.5 grams of saturated fat. You’ll also get 15 grams of sugar and 13 grams of sugar alcohols. For all of the bad stuff, 26 grams of protein is really not worth it.
