Affectionately dubbed by the Egyptians as “the plant of immortality,” the aloe vera plant is a jack of all trades. Inside the leaves of the plant is a clear, gel-like substance that has a long history of being used everywhere from the kitchen to the vanity. It’s also a natural antiseptic, may have anti-cancer compounds and can be a great detox solution if you’re feeling worn down.
Here are 24 ways to put your aloe vera plant to maximum use!

1. Apply the gel as a moisturizer. Get baby soft skin by applying aloe vera gel from head to toe.
2. Treat minor burns. Mix aloe vera gel with vitamin E oil for a homemade burn salve.
3. Relieve itchy mosquito bites. Apply on the bites to take the sting or itch out of insect bites.
4. Heal a bruise. Rub gel gently over bruises on the skin to banish them more quickly! 
5. Prevent stretch marks. Use regularly as a moisturizer on areas that are under stress.
6. Promote a healthy heart. Drink to relieve heartburn and reduce cholesterol.
7. Soothe an eczema breakout. Soften rough, dry patches by making a gel-salt scrub.
8. Brighten dull skin. Aloe can soften pigmentation and dark spots.
