WATCH: Kids, As Young As 12, Target And Attack Mentally Challenged Man Wearing 'I Love Jesus' Lanyard

On Tuesday, four boys ranging from 12-15 years of age were identified as the youths targeting and assaulting a mentally-challenged man in a now-viral Facebook video. They've been apprehended by Philadelphia police officers; according to ABC Action News, charges of aggravated assault are likely pending.
The video of the disturbing incident uploaded to Facebook on Monday shows the young boys laughing as they mock and physically assault a mentally-challenged man, who is wearing an "I love Jesus" lanyard around his neck.
One of the boys punches the victim in the face; the other boys are seen in the background laughing uncontrollably. As the man attempts to flee the assault, another youth, who has been identified as a 15-year-old, chases the victim down and again punches him in the face.
The video has already racked-up over seven million views since being uploaded.

"Obviously, the video is very disturbing," said Philadelphia Police Captain Malachi Jones. "It appears this male, who is 38 years old, was targeted because he is mentally challenged. It's a senseless act of violence."
"To them, they might have thought this was clever, but my message to them and kids in general is to do more constructive things with your time. Because you shouldn't be out there messing with people," added Jones.
"Police were made aware of the content and determined the video was recorded on Memorial Day at Chelten Avenue and Knox Street in Germantown," reports ABC Action News. "They said neighbors and others came forward with essential information that helped them identify the young suspects."

Two of the boys who've been apprehended by officers are said to also be suspects in another local attack, this one carried out on a school principal involving bricks.

  1. Always the same thing. "Kids" are never identified as blacks. I knew from the second I read the headline that's who it was.

    Our PC culture at work.

  2. Gosh, Joe, as this page was loading and before I saw it, I was making a bet out loud with my wife that the kids were black... Does this make us racists, or does this make us honest observers of the culture we live in?

  3. They weren't Muslims? Didn't think so. Germantown used to be a nice area I believe, 45-50 years ago. What happened?

  4. Color is not a factor. If the boy was white, are you saying that he should be identified as white? Social engineering targets people by group and is effective. It seems that you are racist by ignorance rather then by malice.
