Gay father plans to sue United Airlines over accusation that he molested his own son

Henry Amador-Batten plans to sue United Airlines after the airline reportedly filed a police report asserting that he inappropriately touched his son’s genitals on a flight from Newark to Raleigh.
According to Amador-Batten, police officers greeted him and his 5-year-old son Ben at the Raleigh-Durham International Airport on Friday after a flight attendant spotted the two cuddling on the United flight, and notified authorities after feeling that the father’s hand strayed too near his son’s genital area.
Returning from a family visit in Puerto Rico, Amador-Batten revealed that he was shocked by the accusation, but cooperated with law enforcement. He told police that his son had a fear of flying, and to comfort the child, he placed his hand on his son’s lap.
Amador-Batten was released and not charged with any crime.
In a statement to the Huffington Post, Amador-Batten said, “That flight attendant’s false accusation did not save a child, it put an entire family in danger. We’re [made to] understand that families like ours, created out of choice and love, are fragile by nature. … We are not as protected nor solidified, and we need to be.”
Amador-Batten noted that the airline apologized for the inconvenience, calling their apology “empty and hollow.” He claimed that he’s in the process of hiring an attorney to seek damages from United.
“The most painful part of this continues to be how this affected my son, and how it may continue to,” Amador-Batten said. “He’s not been sleeping well, refusing to sleep in his own room and just wants to be by his daddies.”
